Overview

The Care in the City Best Design Prize will be awarded to the highest achieving undergraduate architecture student enrolled in the Care in the City design studio elective. This elective is focused on redesigning existing spaces that utilise inclusive design to create safe and responsive spaces for marginalised groups because of their age or ability.

The Prize is supported by OC Leow and YH Chuah who believe in the transformation of individuals through education.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the Prize, a candidate must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate architecture degree and;
  • The Recipient must be enrolled in a UTS architecture course and have received a result in subject 86160 Environments Gender/Place/Drawing subject in the academic year for which the prize is being awarded.
  • Have completed the Environments Gender/Place/Drawing elective 86160. 

Selection process

  • The Prize will be awarded to the student who has obtained the highest final aggregate mark awarded in the design studio elective: Environments Gender/Place/Drawing (86160).
  • In the event that two or more eligible students have the same highest aggregate mark, the prize will be split and jointly awarded to the equally ranked candidates.
