The Scholarship aims to unlock a greater potential in high achieving students who can demonstrate superior and outstanding qualities of leadership, initiative, and involvement in community affairs. The Scholarship aims to provide financial support to the recipient in their second and third year of study to allow them to achieve extraordinary merit in their degree and immerse themselves deeper in their community engagement.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the Scholarship an applicant must:
- Be an Australian Citizen;
- Be between the ages of nineteen (19) and twenty-nine (29) in the calendar year of award; [1]
- Be a full-time, enrolled student in an eligible Faculty of Health, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, or Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building undergraduate program (single or combined degree);
- Be undertaking their first attempt of an undergraduate degree at a tertiary institution in Australia or abroad;
- Have completed their first year of study (48 Credit Points or equivalent) and be enrolled in their second year of study at the time of selection.
- Apply for this Scholarship online using the UTS Scholarship Application Form; and
- Be available to attend an interview in person.
[1]Applicants going into their thirties at the time of selection may be considered if they are able to demonstrate exceptional circumstances to the satisfaction of the selection committee.
Selection process
As demonstrated in the Scholarship application and interview:
- Academic Merit in the first year of study (WAM);
- Demonstrate superior and outstanding qualities of leadership, initiative and involvement to community affairs.
- Demonstrate financial need and how the scholarship may assist them to perform at a greater level than otherwise would be the case.
