Overview

The FEIT Women in Engineering and IT Scholarship has been established with the goal of increasing the participation of women in Engineering and IT as a non-traditional area of study. The Scholarship will provide financial assistance for the first year of study in their chosen Engineering or IT degree.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be: 

  • Female identifying;
  • An Australian or New Zealand citizen or the holder of an Australian Permanent Resident visa or Permanent Humanitarian visa;
  • Be a current or non-current school leaver with an ATAR (or equivalent) of 85 or above (excluding adjustment points); the Faculty may consider applicants whose ATAR falls in the range of 80 to 85 depending on their suitability of the Scholarship;
  • Be commencing their first year of study in an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Engineering and IT including double degrees; 
  • All candidates must apply using the online UTS Scholarships Application Form;
  • All candidates must be available to attend an interview in person (online or face-to-face).

Selection process

  • Academic merit.
  • As demonstrated in the Scholarship application and interview:

    - Interest in Engineering or IT and motivation to succeed in the UTS course;

    - Initiative in extra-curricular and non-academic activities;

    - Motivation for women in engineering and IT.

    - Other suitability criteria for the scholarship program identified by the Selection Committee, including but not limited to commitment, professionalism and engagement.
