The Victor E Shalala Memorial Achievement Award
Overview
The Prize was established by the Shalala family in 2005, the year in which Victor Shalala would have completed his Civil Engineering studies. Victor Shalala died in 2002 while an undergraduate student of Civil Engineering at UTS, and as a memorial to their son, the Shalala family wishes to recognise high achievement by a UTS Civil Engineering student. One (1) Recipient will be awarded the Prize each year.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the prize, the Recipient must:
- Have completed the course C10061 Bachelor of Engineering Diploma in Engineering Practice or C09067 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice in the relevant academic year prior to the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology prize-giving event, and
- Have completed the course with a major in Civil Engineering.
Selection process
- The eligible student with the highest final Weighted Average Mark.
