Laurie Brady was a long-serving member of the Faculty of Education, initially at Kuring-gai College of Advanced Education, and then at UTS, and has devoted his working life to practising and promoting quality teaching.
The prize recognises outstanding teaching ability in the school classroom (field based professional experience).

Who is eligible?
The Recipient must be:
- Enrolled in the Bachelor of Education in Primary Education; and
- Have successfully completed both:
- 012237 Professional Experience 7: Meeting the English Language Needs of Learners; and
- 012238 Professional Experience 8: Reflecting on Educational Practice
OR
- Enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Education (Primary); and
- Have successfully completed both:
- 028234 Professional Experience 5: Teachers as Researcher; and
- 028235 Professional Experience 6: Internship and Beyond
Selection process
The Prize will be awarded to the student who shows outstanding teaching quality in the classroom based on nomination for the award by the tertiary supervisor and professional experience reports submitted by the supervising teacher.
