CSC UTS PhD scholarship

CSC will provide a living allowance as prescribed by the PRC Government, Australian student visa application fees, mandatory student health insurance for the term of the visa, and return international airfare to Australia. Applicants are advised to apply to CSC for four years (48 months) of living allowance in order to ensure they have funding for the full duration of their HDR tuition fees offset scholarship at UTS.

Overview
The joint China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) are collaborating to provide scholarships to qualified students from the People's Republic of China to undertake high quality research education and study at UTS.
UTS is offering tuition fee scholarships each year to students from the People's Republic of China who are recipients of the CSC Scholarship for full PhD studies at UTS, including dual doctoral degree.
A UTS funded top-up scholarship will be provided to supplement the stipend paid by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholarship. The top-up stipend raises the amount received by the scholarship holder to the rate of the Australian Government Research Training Program Stipend rate in the year in which the scholarships commences.

Who is eligible?
Applicants must:
- Be Chinese citizens or permanent residents of China;
- Meet all UTS admission entry requirements including the English proficiency requirement and have either received an unconditional offer of admission to the UTS PhD program or an offer conditional on completion of their current program;
- Be nominated by your Faculty for a HDR tuition fees offset scholarship
- Be eligible to receive an Australian student visa;
- Return to China at the end of the period of study
- Satisfy the selection criteria set out by the China Scholarship Council
- Intend to pursue a PhD in one of the priority academic research areas identified by CSC and/or within the UTS Research Focus Areas.

The final selection for the joint CSC-UTS Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Scholarship will be made by CSC on the basis of academic merit.
How to apply

UTS Application Process:
CSC applicants have to submit an application to UTS Graduate Research School by the application deadline. Please indicate on the application your sponsor is CSC and that you are applying for a CSC scholarship in the free text box.
CSC Application Process:
You may submit your scholarship application directly to the China Scholarship Council between (indicative dates) 20 March and 5 April. Please visit the CSC website for up-to-date information regarding scholarship selection criteria, application forms, employer reference form, and application deadlines.
Please contact CSC if you require any clarification or assistance with your scholarship application.
Please do not submit your UTS-CSC PhD Scholarship application to The University of Technology Sydney, as it can only be accepted and processed by CSC.
CSC will make the final decision on all scholarship applications and will notify all successful candidates directly. The CSC expiry date and the date which all successful scholarship candidates must commence their UTS PhD Programs will be listed on the CSC award letter.
