Best Practice Guidelines for the Planning and Development of Child Care Facilities
UTS:CLG is working with the Australian Government to develop Best Practice Guidelines for the Planning and Development of Child Care Facilities to identify and promote best practice in state, territory and local government child care planning. The Minister for Early Childhood and Child Care, the Hon Kate Ellis MP, announced on Wednesday 5 June the development of Best Practice Guidelines that will showcase effective local government planning for child care services.
The Best Practice Guidelines will be an important tool for local governments trying to expand child care services in their communities. It will identify the planning and developmental practices that most effectively overcome planning barriers and improve accessibility to child care. The Best Practice Guidelines will also provide real examples of successful approaches which could be adopted by other local governments.
Public submissions will be invited from families, councils, developers and child care providers to shape the development of the Best Practice Guidelines by sharing their experiences. More information about this process will be available shortly.
