The Green Light Algal Phenomics Voucher Program is dedicated to supporting the development of biotech solutions in NSW, across a broad range of industries. Supported by the Deep Green Biotech Hub (DGBH) and housed within the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), the program will support the research impact of NSW small to medium enterprises (SME’s) and start-ups (including entrepreneurs) through access to world-leading phenomics technology.

Why?

To support the growing and innovative biotechnology and algal genetic industry in NSW, Deep Green Biotech Hub is offering vouchers for eligible NSW small-to-medium enterprises and startups. Eligible applicants can apply for vouchers to assist in covering the costs associated with the UTS Algal Phenomics Facilities (via a relevant research services agreement), with 1 voucher awarded per eligible business.

How?

To apply for the Algal Phenomic Facility Voucher, applicants must demonstrate how the APF will assist their business. Applications are taken on a continuing basis (until exhausted), with a maximum of 2 vouchers available per eligible business.

To be eligible for the Algal Phenomic Facility Voucher, businesses must:

  • Be either defined as an SME or startup (please see the program Terms and Conditions here for more details on these definitions).
  • Have an ABN registered in NSW and be based in NSW.
  • Be able to demonstrate the benefit of utilising the Algal Phenomics Facility to the business.
  • Develop an APF Research Proposal for a project in the APF with the Deep Green Biotech Hub and Climate Change Cluster (C3)

Apply now

For Round 1, vouchers will subside $5000 AUD towards the operations cost of the Algal Phenomics Facility use. A total of 2 vouchers may be allocated per eligible business, and the voucher must be used for an agreed APF research proposal.

Applications for Round 1 are currently being accepted continue on a rolling basis until exhausted.

Applications will be assessed on a continuing basis, and successful applicants will be notified.

Please note, the use of the Algal Phenomics Facility is not secured through the above application form. Once successful applicants are notified of the outcome of their voucher application, it is the teams' responsibility to enter into a Research Services Agreement with UTS and to begin any activities.
