Acoustics measurement facilities

The acoustic facilities at the Centre for Audio, Acoustics and Vibration provide a unique resource for Sydney and New South Wales.

The facilities at UTS Tech Lab span more than 800 square metres and support the research activities of the Centre. Each facility is available for hire by companies who wish to undertake acoustic testing. The new facilities are NATA accredited.

  • Brüel & Kjær 64 channel microphone array with related software (7700 PULSE FFT&CPB Analysis, 7708 PULSE Time Data Recorder 7700) and wireless module Brüel & Kjær 3660.

  • Brüel & Kjær multichannel analysing systems (7700 PULSE FFT&CPB Analysis, 7708 PULSE Time Data Recorder, and 7758 PULSE Material Testing)

  • Brüel & Kjær 2-CHANNEL HAND-HELD ANALYZER 2250 and 2270 Investigators

  • Brüel & Kjær 4128 Head and Torso Simulator incl Right and Left Ear Simulators

  • Brüel & Kjær 7907 PULSE Electroacoustic and 9640 turntable system

  • Brüel & Kjær 3599 Sound intensity measurements systems

  • Brüel & Kjær Room acoustics and building acoustics measurement systems (Echo Speech Source 4720; Power Amplifier w. wireless receiver 2734-B; Omnipower Omnidirectional Sound Source 4292-L; Tapping Machine 3207  and Reference Sound Source 4204) and 7841 DIRAC Room Acoustics Software

  • Brüel & Kjær 4206-T-Transmission Loss Tube Kit (50 Hz - 6.4 kHz) for both sound absorption coefficient and transmission loss measurements. Equipment for measuring acoustics properties of new materials and structures

Laser Doppler Vibrometry
