What are the real-world applications of your research?
The advent of data era brings various forms of health data, such as electronic patient records, administrative claim records, biomarker data, sensor data, and medical images. We attempt to contribute to intelligently and autonomously unlocking complex health data that would help health professionals make informed decisions and deliver precise care. The potential real-world applications include tailored diagnostic and treatment decisions, personalized medicine delivery, etc., which may result in significant improvements in healthcare costs, quality, and outcomes.
What ideas do you have for future research?
We will focus on enhancing our algorithms to deal with dynamic and data-intensive environments specifically.
Are you involved in collaborative research?
Our research has a connection with the Centre for Smart Health at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This connection provides access to hospital data, health community data, health professionals consultations, ideas discussions, etc., which significantly help to turn the theory into practice.
What inspired you to undertake a PhD in computer science?
Undertaking a computer science Ph.D. has the great potential of making technological, academic, and societal impact, based on either the research outcomes or the skills acquired during the studies.
