Title: Opportunities and Challenges for Spin Qubits in Silicon
Worldwide efforts to develop various kinds of silicon-based qubits hope to leverage industrial fabrication resources, as well as the extremely quiet magnetic environment of isotopically enhanced silicon, to enable quantum computing, but many challenges remain.
I will discuss efforts at HRL Laboratories, LLC to develop triple-dot qubits in Si/SiGe heterostructures. I will overview how qubit control is possible using only voltage pulses, discuss the automation of tune-up of arrays of up to 6 quantum dots, and finally the evaluation of fidelity and state leakage using randomized benchmarking [arXiv:1812.02693].
