Abstract:
In this talk I will discuss the results of arXiv:1810.02366. We study the problem of noisy state interconversion within resource theories such as entanglement and thermodynamics. Asymptotically these theories are known to be reversible, but finite-size effects naturally induce irreversibility, which we studied in arXiv:1809.07778 and arXiv:1711.01193. In this paper we identify and study a phenomenon we refer to as resource resonance, whereby these interconversions can be engineered to dramatically mitigate this finite-size irreversibility.
I will discuss both the analytic origin of this effect, as well as presenting possible applications, with accompanying numerics.
