Countering Violent Extremism
A full-day roundtable discussion
The Centre for Media Transition brought together experts and analysts to discuss the nature of extremism and explore what role news media reporting of violent extremism should play in ensuring social cohesion, democracy, and in mitigating the spread of extremist propaganda. We sought to find practical solutions to the trust deficit evidently growing between the public and government and ways in which media could identify and counter the impact of information disorder on this distrust.
This event was funded by the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet.
