About the Scholarship
The scholarship will be at a rate of AUD$28,597 p.a. for 3.5 years. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree.
We are recruiting two PhD students to work at the Centre for Audio, Acoustics and Vibration (CAAV) of University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in the field of sound field control. The specific research topics include personal sound zones, spatial audio, active noise control and 3D sound field reconstruction. Candidates with a background in acoustics, audio signal processing, and electrical and electronic engineering are recommended to apply.
The candidates will work in an integrative, collaborative environment at UTS Tech Lab. They will have access to world-class acoustic labs including a full anechoic chamber, a hemi-anechoic chamber, a reverberation room, a sound transmission loss suite, a listening and hearing test room, and two control rooms. The candidates will also have access to world-class equipment for audio research including four Yamaha mixing desks with up to 128 channels input and 128 channels output, 74 Genelec 8010A loudspeakers, 12 Genelec 8040A Loudspeakers, 74 DPA 4060 recording microphones and 64 B&K array microphones with Multi-channel Pulse Measurement systems.

Application Requirements
- University Degree (Bachelor, 1st class honours or Bachelor and Masters) in Acoustics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related disciplines with a strong academic record and;
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking research in the fields of acoustics, digital signal processing or electrical and electronics engineering preferred.
