Pacific Society for Reproductive Health (PSRH) held their 10th Biennial Conference in Samoa in 2013. PSRH encourages and contributes to the professional development of sexual, reproductive and neonatal health care professionals across the diversity of Pacific Island Countries. The Society also advocates for the improvement of Women’s Health in the Pacific.
The WHO CC UTS presented a paper on the Papua New Guinea Maternal and Child Health Initiative being undertaken by the WHO CC UTS in collaboration with PNG National Department of Health, World Health Organization and funded by AusAID. There were a number of other PNG staff and colleagues attending the conference. Professor Pat Brodie presented the Brian Spurrett Oration at the conference which was the first time a midwife has been asked to present this address..
WHO CC UTS co-facilitated a research workshop on the last day of the conference. About 100 doctors and midwives attended the workshop which included presentations by new researchers across the region.
