Engagement and Impact: Research with Intent
Why do we undertake research? Researcher's passion for their work is often driven by a desire to connect and to make a difference.
As a university, UTS has an overarching vision to be a leading public university of technology which is recognised for global impact. We want to help to enable our researcher's to bring their research to where it can best effect change.
Connected Research is a central pillar within the UTS 2027 Strategy, with the aim being that ‘Our research will be exemplified by excellence, impact, engagement with global partners, and innovative collaborations that transcend disciplinary and professional boundaries’. The focus within the broader higher education research and research funding landscape has also shifted in recent decades, with increasing currency placed upon engaged research which has demonstrable impact.
What does this mean for your research, and how can you effectively consider and plan for engaging beyond the academy and doing impactful work?
This session aims to assist early career researchers from all disciplines to understand and navigate the current research landscape, learning from experienced researchers who will share their insights and approaches, and by providing you with the tools and supports which UTS makes available to engage effectively and to build your own research impact story.
