You are warmly invited to join us at Yirranma Place for 'Public History in Darlinghurst' a seven part series of conversations to discuss and expand our understanding of the histories of this unique suburb.
What can we learn by exploring the voices, archives, and communities which create histories of place? How does shared history shape how we imagine and engage with contemporary communities within Darlinghurst? The series will explore history through the streets, faces, and voices of Darlinghurst, and provides an opportunity for you to share your story.
You'll also hear stories from the many voices of Darlinghurst (some well known, others long since forgotten) that have been uncovered by our collaborators in their creation of new histories exploring place and community.
The Australian Centre for Public History is partnering with the Paul Ramsay Foundation to bring you this series of events exploring the Public History of Darlinghurst. Since May 2021 we've been working on the Darlinghurst Public History Initiative, and now we are ready to share these histories with you!
