Life after lockdown - Educating through a crisis

At UTS we’ve brought together a group of experts in the fields of science, education, health and policy to explore what the world will look like in three months, six months and one years’ time. And how long we might be dealing with the effects of COVID-19.

 

With the announcement of a staged return to school for NSW primary and secondary school students, parents can now start to breathe a sigh of relief, or can they?.  The third of our Life after lockdown events will explore what the academic and psychological impact of students being out of a formal school environment.

How has the coronavirus crisis highlighted the disparity between public and private schools in terms of access to technology and resources? What evidence is there to support face-to face teaching vs online learning?

Join Dr Don Carter, an educational specialist from UTS, along with Phil Seymour, the President of the NSW Primary Principal’s Association, and Dr Lucy Bryant, a lecturer in speech pathology at UTS, as they discuss what life after lockdown will look like for Australian students and educators.
