Life After Lockdown – Caring through a crisis

For the 854,300 family and friend informal carers in NSW, the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing measures have resulted in unique challenges, but also unique opportunities, especially in areas such as telehealth and the NDIS. A report published by Carers NSW, identified the physical and mental challenges of caring during this time, highlighting that carers were the “proactive, unrecognised health care workforce.” Join the CEO of Carers NSW and UTS Industry Fellow, Elena Katrakis, along with a panel of UTS policy experts including inclusive organisational diversity advocate Professor Simon Darcy, and UTS Carer-in-Residence, Tania Teague as they uncover what needs to be addressed at a Federal and State level to protect carers and those they care for.
