UTS fosters connections through conferences and collaborations
UTS recently held a joint conference with China’s Fudan University and the East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai. Professor Guoxiu Wang from the UTS Centre for Clean Energy Technology co-chaired the 9th International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Conference on Novel Materials and their Synthesis.
More than 300 distinguished guests, from over 30 countries converged to showcase their exciting research findings. Among them, was Professor Ada Yonath, the 2009 Nobel Laureate of Chemistry.
Professor Guoxiu Wang gave the opening address, chaired the first session on Novel Biomaterials, and presented a keynote speech on his latest research. He also gave an invited seminar at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST) in Beijing, and attended several other international forums in China to further strengthen research ties between Australia and China.
Overall, the conference proved to be a great success, as it served as a high level platform to forge communication, innovation and collaboration with international research colleagues. As one of the organisers of this international conference, UTS was highlighted for its contribution to cutting edge science research.
