Global Alliance for Nursing and Midwifery (GANM)
In 2005 the World Health Organization (WHO) adopted a key resolution that supports strengthening human resources for health, particularly nursing and midwifery, as central to achieving progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and scaling up effective health interventions.
In response to this resolution, The Global Alliance for Nursing and Midwifery (GANM) was established to offer nurses and midwives around the world the opportunity to engage in discussions and build collective knowledge to address key health issues and challenges. These discussions take place on the Knowledge Gateway, an online platform supported by WHO that uses simple low-resolution technology for virtual knowledge networking.
