Date: The Careers Fair is on 20 February 2024, the first day of the Quantum Australia 2024 conference
Time: 9:00am to 11:45am AEDT, with morning tea provided
Where: Winx Stand, Royal Randwick (near UNSW’s Kensington campus), Sydney
The Careers Fair gives students the chance to:
- Connect with industry and government employers, recruiters and experts
- Learn about new job and internship opportunities
- Find out what skills are in demand, and how to make an impression
- Discover study pathways, training and up-skilling opportunities and new scholarship programs in quantum and other emerging technologies
The Careers Fair program kicks off with a one-hour panel discussion with experts and employers on what it takes to succeed in quantum technology. Panellists include:
- Prof Andrew Doherty, Chief Investigator, Sydney Quantum Theory Lab, University of Sydney and former chief technology officer at U.S. quantum start-up PsiQuantum
- Dr Giuseppina Dall’Armi-Stoks, Research Leader at Australia's Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG)
- Dr Amanda Seedhouse, Postdoctoral Researcher at Diraq, a Sydney-based quantum computing start-up
- Dr Byron Villis, Quantum Measurement Engineer at Archer Materials
- Prof Chris Vale, Director, Quantum Technologies Future Science Platform, CSIRO
