Speakers:
- Bronwen Dalton - Head of Department (Management) at UTS Business School & CEO and Founder of Ruff Sleepers.
Bronwen's extensive background in the Not-for-Profit sector includes roles at Mission Australia, Centre for Australian Community Organisations and Management and the National Korean Studies Centre. Fluent in Korean, she serves on various boards and is Regional Vice-President, Oceania of the International Council of Voluntarism and Civil Society.
- Weh Yeoh - Co-founder and CEO of Umbo & author of Redundant Charities.
Weh lived in Cambodia for 5 years, where he founded OIC Cambodia. Now back in Australia, he's co-founded Umbo. Weh has a BA in Physiotherapy and an MA in Development Studies from UNSW.
In a previous life, he volunteered in a centre for people with disabilities in Vietnam, interned in India, studied Mandarin in Beijing, and milked yaks in Mongolia.
- Mark Riboldi - Lecturer in Social Impact & Social Change at UTS Business School
Before entering academia, Mark worked as a media and policy adviser in NSW Parliament, an advocacy and communications manager at Community Legal Centres NSW, and as the collaborative research and policy manager at the Sydney Policy Lab. He is passionate about supporting nonprofits and other civil society organisations to meet the needs and aspirations of communities.
- Dr Najmeh Hassanli - Senior Lecturer and Researcher in social change
Najmeh is passionate about how leisure, tourism and events can drive social change. She is currently researching how these areas foster inclusivity, empowerment, and wellbeing for individuals and communities while also addressing their potential to perpetuate marginalisation and social injustice.
Najmeh is also Vice President of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Leisure Studies (ANZALS) and Secretary of Human and Hope Australia
- Dr Lewis Whales - Course Director of the Master of Not for Profit and Social Enterprise at UTS
Lewis is an education focused academic who started out in the world of sport and fitness. Having completed a BA in Sports Management he moved into several leadership roles, prompting him to complete an MBA.
With a passion for life-long learning, Lewis has recently completed his PhD focusing on relational leadership in the context of sport.
Doors open at 5.30pm with the discussion commencing at 6pm.
