UTS has strong reputation for developing talent in technology, being a young, innovative University.
Already employed as data analyst, I was looking to do my Masters to enhance my skillset further and fill in any gaps in technical foundation I already gained through work experience. UTS has strong reputation for developing talent in technology and science and, being a young, innovative and responsive to the market needs University, it was my primary choice immediately. I considered both Business Analytics and MDSI degrees but seeing high demand in Australian and European markets for data specialists with impeccable communication and management skills, I decided that Business Analytics program would help me best with career progression.
Working on data projects with peers from MDSI stream has been the most challenging yet valuable experience from my course, especially in the last semester. When a team of highly skilled professionals come together with extensive yet diverse work background, it could get challenging to stay cohesive as a team and agree on the approach and deliverables. It also made me confident about choosing Business Analytics program as this experience proved once again that every data team needs a member who is able to interpret the model to business stakeholders and share the relevant insights for them to make strategic decisions.
Managing both work, studies and personal life required a great level of effort but I’m proud I managed to do so and graduated with WAM 91.06. I also met a few great people from different parts of the world and hope that one day our paths will cross again.
