2024 Allens Neota UTS Law Tech Challenge - Apply
Build an app for social change and solve real-world problems.
Are you interested in learning to develop mobile applications for the benefit of social change? How about solving real problems that really matter?
Expressions of interest are now open for the sought-after Allens Neota UTS Law Tech Challenge for Social Justice.
In 2016, the Brennan Justice and Leadership Program launched a free program in conjunction with Allens and Neota Logic to teach students to develop apps that perform essential functions for non-profit organisations. In this innovative program, students will be supported by Allens professionals to work as teams with a non-profit organisation to build a smart app.
Students have since developed apps to promote access to justice with various legal centres across Australia, give advice to refugees, help those facing homelessness, and assist Indigenous youth to name a few.
This highly sought-after opportunity is only available to students registered with the Brennan Justice and Leadership Program. The program will run from February-August, culminating in a public competition for the best app. All participants will be invited to attend a launch event towards the end of 2023.
The 100 hours accumulated on the program can be claimed as Brennan Program LTS hours.
This year's esteemed industry judges and guest speakers commented on the enthusiasm and professionalism of students, the sound understanding of emerging technologies and the quality and authenticity of the apps (with no coding experience necessary). Students were congratulated for their ability to collaborate virtually this year with tremendous resilience.
