Meet our students
Jenny Care – Doctor of Philosophy
Jenny is a researcher currently completing a PhD in health practitioner regulation with a focus on allied health professions not registered under Australia's National Registration and Accreditation Scheme.
Josie Newton – Doctor of Philosophy
Josie is Wiradjuri with genealogical and ancestral ties to Burrangong, central western NSW, and Celtic descent. With a 40-year career in health commencing with nursing, she has experience working largely in Aboriginal Affairs at the commonwealth and state levels in senior health administrative roles.
Tristan Carter – Doctor of Philosophy
As a passionate naturopathic researcher advocating for paternal health and natural health remedies, Tristan works in collaboration with a sterling supervisory team to undertake public health research which focuses on prevention and preventive strategies exploring Australian males in the preconception period to establish their influence on pregnancy and offspring-related outcomes.
Jillian (Jill) Mary Dunn – Doctor of Philosophy
Conventionally trained as a general and maternity nurse, and faced with managing a long-term disabling condition in a fragmented health system, I have been an advocate for the integration of naturopathic medicine for more than four decades.
Hannah Jackson – Doctor of Philosophy
Hannah Jackson is a Ph.D. Candidate within the Faculty of Health at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) specialising in the field of pharmacoeconomics and its intersection with maternal healthcare.
Jose Orlando – Doctor of Philosophy
I'm a medical doctor from Argentina with an initial clinical background and health services auditing later. I have been developing my skills in Public Health in Australia since 2019 at the SPH at UTS.
Birhanu Gutu Turi – Doctor of Philosophy
My passion is influencing adolescent SRH policy via cutting-edge research. I have also written research papers and published them as a sole author, the primary author, and a co-author in regarded journals like PlosOne, BMC Public Health, and others.
Chanelle Mastronardo – Doctor of Philosophy
I am a practicing osteopath with interests in public health research and policy development. I'm keen on all things complementary medicine and its advancement in the healthcare landscape.
Melise Ammit – Doctor of Philosophy
I am a PhD candidate at UTS, with a research focus on women and alcohol use disorders. I am employed as a clinical nurse specialist in drug and alcohol nursing, and a casual academic at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) within the School of Nursing & Midwifery
Linda Justin – Doctor of Philosophy
Linda is a Non-Executive Director with National and International for Purpose Organizations, chairing subcommittees in a dynamic policy environment, with emerging risks for these organisations and the vulnerable populations they serve.
