Grace Richardson
Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Podcaster/Producer
Bachelor of Music and Sound Design, 2020
Music and Sound Design graduate Grace Richardson describes herself on LinkedIn as a:
"Podcast Producer, ideating podcasts and bringing them to life. Skilled in Producing, Sound Design, Audio Engineering, Mixing, Editing, Scripting, Interviewing, Talent Work."
MIK Studios is "a creative studio specialising in audio and digital content". They also headline with 'AMPLIFIERS OF CULTURE' in dominant font.
It's fitting then that a creative, idea-rich, artistic and technically-proficient person like Grace Richardson would work there because she's also a rock musician.
Grace and her sister Lily Richardson are the Sydney Indie rock band CLEWS.
Online news tells how Grace and Lily grew up surrounded by music, and moved to Sydney from the NSW South Coast for uni.
In between studying and working Grace and Lily wrote songs, played, sang, hustled, booked gigs, performed live, and released a few singles that garnered serious interest in their music.
As their bio on their agency Lonely Island elegantly puts it:
"... Their undeniable song writing prowess and two soaring lead vocals that harmonise like honey have been the backbone of Clews since they burst onto the scene with their 2018 debut, ‘Museum’. Clews have carved out a distinct sonic identity of strong, melodic vocals, lush production and the organic sound of a high energy band that echoes elements of the rock artists they love – PJ Harvey, Fontaines D.C, and Warpaint... "
With several singles already including 'Museum' - which hit strongly in 2018 on Triple J Unearthed - 2023 is when fans should be treated to a LB album release.
CLEWS have 31k+ monthly listeners on Spotify and climbing. 2023 is already a big year of local, national and international touring. The CLEWS BandsInTown touring tagline reads:
"Born and raised on the anthemic ballads of the ‘90s, the two Mollymook sisters are now based in Sydney and they are singing big choruses and writing songs with sweeping harmonies that will make your heart explode."
It's kind of true. Just listen to CLEWS new 2023 single 'Everything is Heavy'.
