All Hands on Deck
All Hands on Deck is a cross-disciplinary symposium – centred on the topics of work, skill and material production in the context of climate change. In particular, brings design into dialogue with the social sciences and political economy. The event will be held on 19-21 July 2023, at UTS Building 8.
The symposium convenors are Dr Jesse Adams Stein (School of Design, DAB, UTS) and Dr Chantel Carr (University of Wollongong), and the keynote speakers are Emeritus Professor Tim Ingold and Prof Dr Alice Twemlow.
We are thrilled that this event will feature many academics from the Faculty of DAB. It will also feature delegates from universities across Australia and internationally, as well as from think tanks, unions, and independent creative practitioners. Additionally, the event will feature a participatory workshop by Dr Tristan Schultz and Bec Barnett (Relative Creative). It will be graphically recorded by artist Sam Wallman, and audio recorded by podcast producer Jennifer Macey and UTS AV Services.
We are so excited to share this schedule with you. It has been a long time in development, and we feel so humbled to bring together so many incredible people, topics and disciplines into the one event.
