UTS Writers' Salon March 2023
The UTS Writers' Salon returns for 2023 with 'From Creation to Publication: Jane O'Connell's Cold Against the Glass'.
In this event we will meet UTS Creative Writing alum Jane O'Connell, who will read from and discuss her recently published novel Cold Against the Glass, a project she began writing within her Master's study. Jane will discuss her journey in getting her work published, from working with agents and publishers, and ultimately her experience in self-publication.
The evening will be hosted and moderated by current UTS Creative Writing student Rochelle Pickles.
Jane O’Connell is a former journalist who writes both fiction and non-fiction. She has worked in television, print and digital media and continues to write and edit through her content company, Backbeach Productions. In the book world, she has co-written and edited a number of non-fiction publications and co-edited the 2017 UTS Anthology, And Watch the Whale Explode. Jane has been a board director with the Children’s Book Council of Australia, a volunteer writing mentor at Sydney Story Factory and is currently Association Editor of the Gold Coast Writers’ Association.
