UTS:ACRI WEBINAR: The Shortest History of China – in conversation with Linda Jaivin
Chinese politics, language and culture expert Linda Jaivin’s new book The Shortest History of China (Black Inc) ‘distils a vast history into a short, readable account that tells you what you need to know about China, from its philosophical origins to its political system, to the COVID-19 pandemic and where China is likely to lead the world.’
Linda Jaivin joined Louise Edwards, Adjunct Professor, Australia-China Relations Institute, University of Technology Sydney and Emeritus Professor of Chinese History, University of New South Wales, in conversation in a webinar launching her book to discuss China’s past, its outlook and its ambitions, and what it all means for Australia. The discussion was followed by audience Q&A.
The Shortest History of China is available for purchase in paperback and e-book versions.
