Boao Forum Summit 2014
On December 5 2014 ACRI was honoured to host a visit from Secretary-General Wenzhong Zhou of the Boao Forum for Asia.
In conversation with Professor the Hon Bob Carr, ACRI Director, Secretary-General Zhou shared his insights on the bilateral relationship between China and Australia and spoke about his vision for the Boao Forum. Secretary-General Zhou also discussed the Chinese economy, the environment and other issues relevant to the Australia-China relationship.
Following the successful visit by President Xi Jinping and the conclusion of negotiations of the FTA, this was an opportunity to hear first-hand from one of the most respected public figures in China.
The event was held at Bloomberg Auditorium.

Wenzhong Zhou
Mr Zhou has been Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia and the Vice President of China-US People’s Friendship Association since 2010.
Active in China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs since the 1970s, he served as China's Ambassador to Australia from 1998 to 2001. He was Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2001 to 2003 and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2005. From 2005 to 2010 he served as Ambassador to the US.
