Will stamp duty reform work?
Over the past few months, we’ve seen interest rates rise steadily. This has made prospective home buyers less hopeful for the market to soften, and for housing to become more affordable.
In response, the NSW Government announced the reform to stamp duty, which gives first homebuyers the option to opt-out of stamp duty, and into an annual tax.
But is stamp duty an impediment to property purchasing?
