“The two internships of Bachelor of Accounting have really allowed me to tie together what we learn at university with what happens in offices in the real world. That's been quite motivating with studies, as I started to realise that what I am learning is useful (even if it doesn't always seem that way) and can assist me in the workplace.
"UTS Business offers a more practical and real world approach, combining theory with the lecturer's practical experiences. This, along with the Bachelor of Accounting course which offers the same teaching as Bachelor of Business but with the two internships, I think makes us much more employable in the accounting/business sphere than other universities.
"The most useful thing I’ve learned is the ability to think about business problems and start to see why they might be occurring, not to mention the ability to understand and read the financial statements of a company - a key skill in business but also to make personal investment decisions. However the most rewarding aspects of my time at university have been the non-degree aspects of the university; being able to get involved in sports, societies and organisations around the university which aim to broaden your experience. I've learnt at least as much from these activities as from my studies. There's so much on and so many interesting people to meet if you get involved with things like Peer Networking, BUiLD, sports clubs and societies.”
