Bridging courses are short intensive courses designed for students entering tertiary study. These are designed for students to build confidence with their preparation for university study, or because they may not meet the assumed knowledge.
Bridging courses help prepare you for your university studies and for learning in the university environment. Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but they will help you get ready for first year university subjects.
Students entering tertiary study without the recommended knowledge in a particular area, or who want a refresher, should do a bridging course. This may include students enrolling in science courses or in other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education and information technology.
UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. They are usually held in January and February and are available to all, including students who do not intend to study at UTS.
