UTS Rapido is based in the Faculty of Engineering and IT at UTS, and works closely with partners; taking industry ideas and concepts all the way from research through to prototypes and then real-world solutions. Rapido has deep expertise in delivering digital outcomes for various partners, and covers the full gamut of digital discovery and development: from User Experience Research and Design, through to developing prototypes, candidate products, and deployable products for clients.  

Rapido team members specialize in developing not only industry-ready solutions in mobile / web development and cloud solutions, but also solutions in emerging computing technologies such as data science, machine learning, 3D geometry processing and computer vision, robotics, additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

Rapido is looking for students interested in learning valuable technical/industry-ready skills and to work on interesting projects. Students will work as part of the Rapido team and will be well supported by our professional engineers.  Some of the goals of this project are: 

  • Engage students on real world, industry focussed research projects. 
  • Facilitate contribution in a variety of fields and disciplines such as social innovation, mechatronic engineering, AI & computer vision, app development and additive manufacturing. 
  • Deliver effective project outputs which generate business value for clients. 

Learning opportunities

  • Expertise in a field relevant to the industry project such as CAD design, circuit design, app development, and machine vision/AI. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 
  • Drive and passion to work towards and contribute to the project outcomes. 

Applicable knowledge

This project is suitable for students in their 4th year or beyond.  

How many places are available?

There are three (3) student positions available.
