Analysing the life story of her uncle, UTS FASS undergraduate Shea Donohoe's essay details the experiences and social-cultural context that have made him the person today. Shea accounts for the theory of masculinity and hegemony that had forced her uncle to conform to specific lifestyle and expectation. Specifically, her essay focuses on Australia's attitudes to homosexuality and how these attitudes have changed throughout the years.
