Maintenance Groups
Adolescent and adult maintenance groups
We are in the process of developing maintenance groups for adolescents and adults who have previously completed the Camperdown Program or a Smooth Speech treatment. The aim of the maintenance groups is to revise and practise an already acquired fluency technique. During these groups, clients typically engage in small group work according to individual needs, personal goals, and interests. Attendees are given the opportunity to practise their fluency technique within a range of speaking situations. For example, people may choose to practise their technique whilst ordering food and drink, talking on the phone, or presenting to a group. The maintenance groups will be facilitated by Speech Pathologists, and student speech pathologists may provide assistance.
Prerequisites for attending
It is essential that attendees have previously learnt to use a fluency technique to help control stuttering and are familiar with measuring their stuttering severity.
Adolescents and adults who have previously completed the Camperdown Program or a Smooth Speech treatment are welcome to attend.
