UTS-SHU Machine Intelligence Research Forum
A free virtual forum on machine intelligence to boost research and industry collaboration.
The joint "Machine Intelligence" lab between UTS and Shanghai University will hold a free global online forum on machine intelligence on Wednesday 24 June, 2020 (AEST).
Twelve machine intelligence experts from the universities will present new advancements in machine learning research, including:
- Wearable EEG devices for augmenting human performance in health and aged care
- Machine vision for text detection and recognition, and preventing false facial verification
- Obstacle avoidance and motion control for multi-segmented soft robots
- Improving the power quality of renewable energy in an unbalanced distribution grid
- An algorithm with the best trade-off for security and detection efficiency
- Diagnosing faults in industrial reciprocating compressors using convolutional deep belief networks
- A convolutional neural network simulator for efficient and cost effective processing of hardware
- How ancient oracle bone characters from China are used as modern-day sensory icons in social networks
- Can deep learning models reflect and change ideas in the same way as humans?
- Imitation learning with a reward learning module in Atari games
- Mining and learning of event evolution graphs
The machine learning forum will provide opportunities for engagement with industry, while building on new and existing collaborative research networks.
