UTS App privacy notice
The UTS App acts as a mobile and desktop portal for UTS. It provides a personalised and mobile experience to allow you to access your information from various university systems.
When you are browsing the university’s public information on the UTS website through the UTS App, the UTS website privacy statement applies. The UTS App may present you with feedback forms while you are using it, and you can choose whether to respond or not.
The following information is provided for users who may log in to university systems via the UTS App to access information. Using the UTS App is optional and you can still engage with the university’s systems through the standard login channels.
Collecting your information
The UTS website privacy statement covers collection of personal information.
Further to this, when you first use the UTS App, you will need to enter your student or staff ID to log in to access your information.
No additional information is collected from you when you use the UTS App.
Using your information
The university will use statistical data on app downloads and usage to monitor the effectiveness of the UTS App and for quality improvement and planning activities.
Disclosing information
To use the UTS App to access your information, the provider of the UTS App (ExLibris) will need to hold your name, staff or student email address, user ID and role as part of the registration process. This information will be stored securely overseas under contract with UTS. The information held about your use of the UTS App will not be disclosed unless required or permitted by law.
Information you access using the UTS App is not disclosed to ExLibris.
Managing your information
Information you retrieve from UTS using the UTS App is only transmitted to your mobile device and is not stored elsewhere as a result of this process. However, for performance reasons, the information you retrieve may be cached on your device. You are responsible for the security of your device and managing any cached information accordingly.
If your device has been lost or you believe it has been compromised, change your UTS password immediately by visiting email.itd.uts.edu.au/webapps/myaccount/ or contacting IT Support Centre on (02) 9514 2222.
If you wish to stop using the UTS App, uninstall the Mobile Portal app from your device.

Contact the IT Support Centre through Service Connect or by calling the Help Desk on (02) 9514 2222 if:
- you can’t access information
- you feel the information presented to you is not correct
- you wish to request erasure of the data held about you by ExLibris, or
- you have any other queries.
