UTS Fintech Forum
How one of Australia's oldest Fintech companies tackles the complexity of online mortgage brokerage
UTS Business School's Finance Discipline Group is hosting once again the UTS Fintech Forum.
After the success of past events (featuring companies such as 'buy now, pay later' Zip Co, neo bank Xinja, superannuation disrupter Zuper and mortgage marketplace creator Hashching) the upcoming Fintech forum focuses on the oustanding success story of online mortgage lender Lendi. Since its early days in 2013, Lendi has come a long way, having directly settled loans worth approximately $8 billion. In 2017, The Australian called Lendi "arguably one of the oldest fintech start-ups in Australia." After securing funding from investors including MacQuarie Bank and listed investment manager Bailador, Lendi has struck another deal with ANZ Banking Group to secure an additional funding of $40 million in January 2019 .
We are excited to welcome Lendi's co-founder David Hyman and the company's chief marketing officer Zara Cobb to explore business topics at the cross section of finance and technology. David and Zara will discuss with Dr Gerhard Hambusch the breathtaking rise of Lendi, David's journey as a Fintech pioneer, and opportunities of using technology in financial services with a focus on mortgage lending. Topics will include challenges Lendi has faced to become a leader in the online mortgage lending industry and recent developments in the market, as well as changing industry dynamics and trends in the economy.
Networking and refreshments will follow.
