Can I still enrol in the Bachelor of Global Studies?
No. This course has been suspended for commencing students.
What can I major in within Global Studies?
Global Studies students can specialise in one of five professional majors - Business, Management, Health, Communication or Legal Studies. These subjects are taught by the corresponding faculty and are completed alongside students studying those professional degrees.

What career will a Bachelor of Global Studies give me?
Career options include roles in a number of globally oriented workplaces such as government and non-government organisations as well as a variety of companies, ranging from small start-ups to major multinationals. Career options are often based on the choice of major within the degree. Graduates have roles as marketing coordinators, brand strategists, business managers and paralegals. Graduates have also worked in industries including finance, hospitality, tourism, digital media and the not-for-profit sector.
Do I have to learn a language?
No, however students have the option to study a language as their sub-major. The languages offered include French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.
If I major in Legal studies, can I be a lawyer?
No, to practise as a lawyer in NSW, students need to successfully complete an accredited legal qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Laws) and an accredited course of practical legal training (PLT). However, Global Studies students can do a postgraduate degree in Law and may have some subjects credited.
Global Studies graduates who have majored in Legal Studies also have the option to work in law as a paralegal or consultant.
What subjects will I study in my chosen professional major?
The subjects students study will depend on the chosen professional major (Business, Management, Health, Communication or Legal Studies). Students must complete 48 credit points of major subjects, which usually consists of a combination of core subjects and electives. These subjects are taught by the corresponding faculty and are completed alongside students studying those professional degrees.

Can I do an internship overseas or go on exchange as part of the Global Studies degree?
Yes, Global Studies students have 1/3 of their degree as electives, which provides a high level of flexibility. This means students can pursue a session-long global exchange, complete an international internship or undertake a short-term study placement overseas as part of their degree.
What are the best subjects to study for the HSC if I am interested in Global Studies?
There are currently no prerequisites to study Global Studies, however humanities subjects such as Society & Culture, History and languages may help students prepare for the degree.

Is there an internship or placement as part of the Global Studies degree?
Yes, all students gain work experience by completing a minimum 50 hour internship. This can be completed domestically or overseas through an international intensive elective.
