I have realized there are so many different pathways you can take with this degree
Before starting at my law degree at UTS, I didn’t really know if I wanted to be a lawyer. I wanted to study law because I always enjoyed legal studies in high school, and I felt it was an avenue which would allow me to help others. Throughout my degree I have realized there are so many different pathways you can take with this degree that allow you to do that.
The most rewarding part of my degree so far has been developing and honing the skills to solve difficult questions. The most important and valuable skill I have learnt has been the ability to look at situations objectively, from different perspectives and to try to acknowledge and address my own bias. The problem-solving skills I have developed through my law degree have facilitated my ability to think creatively and find an original solution to difficult and often contentious issues. These skills are invaluable not only for my future career, but for my development as an active member of the community.
Looking forward, I hope to use these skills to benefit others, as I acknowledge what an enormous privilege it is to have the opportunity to undertake this degree.
