Distinguished Professor Jie Lu welcomes guests during the opening address of CAI’s launch in May 2017.

The age of artificial intelligence is marked by a rapid pace of development, growing relevance of AI to every modern life, and a profound impact in many industries. The University of Technology has responded to this challenge by establishing the Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAI) within the Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT).

The CAI is a world leading research centre in artificial intelligence, with an ambition to develop theoretical foundations and advanced algorithms for artificial intelligence and to drive significant progress in related areas like computational intelligence, business intelligence, computer vision, data science, machine learning, brain computer interface, social robotics and information systems.
