One program, so many opportunities. UTS offers one of the biggest design programs in Australia. It’s a key reason we’re ranked Number 1 for Design in Sydney. When you study with us, you can choose from any of our core disciplines:

• Fashion and Textiles
• Product Design
• Visual Communication

That means you can translate your calling into a degree and career, whether it’s working for a leading fashion designer, developing your own product or creating award-winning animated stories.

But having this range of disciplines and degrees is important for other reasons:

• Learn the value of collaboration: your dream job probably doesn't involve working on your own. Even if it does, the reality is that when you get out into industry you'll need the know-how to work with other people across other disciplines and professions. Thanks to the School of Design’s interdisciplinary stream you will get to work with designers from across the school. That means you’ll have the know-how to work with others in industry, from the get go.
• Get combinations you won’t find anywhere else: study fashion at an arts school and you probably won’t find a textiles department like we have. Study Interior Architecture somewhere else and you’ll probably be in the Built Environment or Architecture school. Study visual communication and the opportunity to major in a whole range of practises, from animation
• We attract the best leaders: the interdisciplinary nature of the School of Design is a major factor for the academics who choose to work here. They love working with designers and academics in other areas because it gives them the chance to reflect on their own practice and collaborate with others.
