Disclosure: should I register?

If you're unsure whether to register with the Accessibility Service or have concerns about disclosing your personal information, you're welcome to make an appointment to speak with an Accessibility Consultant to find out what support is available and how we can assist you. You can then decide whether you want to register with the Accessibility Service.

Disclosure:

Your disability or health condition may have little or no impact on your studies at university, and you may choose to manage your circumstances without accessing support and services. However, if you would like to access services and accommodations related to your course, disclosing allows us to determine your eligibility for assistance and services.

Confidentiality:

The Accessibility Service provides a central point for you to disclose your personal details related to your disability and/or ongoing health condition, as relevant to the study environment. The Accessibility Service will not disclose your diagnosis to University staff without your consent. Find out more about your Privacy at UTS.

We recommend disclosing the impacts of your disability/condition as the most helpful information when communicating with your faculty to organise reasonable accommodations or requests. This information can be limited to your Academic Liaison Officer (ALO) as the central faculty contact and approver of such requests.
