Graduate Certificate in Diabetes: Clinical Placement
In order to meet UTS and ADEA accreditation requirements, students will need to complete a 40 hour clinical placement as part of the clinical subject: 93006 Clinical Practice in Diabetes.
The placement block is for one week (40 consecutive hours) and can be taken anywhere between September and November.
Once you have enrolled in the clinical subject this enrolment information feeds into MyPlacement, the University’s clinical placement system. A placement profile is created for you and you will be able to preference where you would like to attend your clinical placement and receive further information about the state compliance requirements.
All placements will be arranged on your behalf through the Clinical Practice Unit based at UTS. Placements must occur in an approved Public or Private facility. This means the health facility has a Credentialed Diabetes Educator on site, and a Student Placement Agreement is in place between the health facility and university.
You can also preference placements that are not on the list, and we will arrange for a Student Placement Agreement. This can take several months to put in place.
Another part of the preparation for the clinical placement is submitting the correct compliance documentation required by each state, territory and health facility.
