If you want to study at UTS for one or two semesters, you have two options: study abroad or exchange. To learn the difference, read on.
Choose your program
Please note the next application round is for UTS Autumn 2024 (February - June 2024). For deadlines see key dates.
Study abroad programs
Whether you'd like to enrol in full-time studies or enjoy your time in Sydney with a lighter study load, you can choose from two study abroad programs at UTS.
They are available for students from any university or college that is recognised by UTS, and for those who have completed high school (diplomas from many countries accepted).
Study Abroad 24
- Enrol in full-time studies (24 credit points per teaching session).
- Gain credit at UTS for one or two teaching sessions with the approval of your home institution if you’re a university or college student.
- Pay a flat fee to cover the cost of your tuition.
- Discuss your study plan with your home university academic adviser (if for academic credit) and our team will be happy to assist you with the subject approval process.
Study Abroad 18
- Similar to Study Abroad 24, but with a reduced number of credit points (18 per teaching session rather than the usual 24) and a lower tuition fee.
- The lighter study load and lower cost makes Study Abroad 18 an excellent choice if you want to experience more of the Australian lifestyle while studying.
Exchange programs
If you're enrolled at or nominated by a UTS Exchange partner institution, you can apply for one of our exchange programs.
Disclaimer: this list might not be up-to-date due to the ongoing website migration expected to be completed in October 2024.
Global Exchange
- Enrol in full-time studies and gain credit at UTS for one or two teaching sessions with the approval of your home institution.
- Discuss your study plan with your home university academic adviser and our team will be happy to assist you with the subject approval process.
- Once your exchange has been approved by your home institution, they will submit your details to us on your behalf.
- You are not required to pay tuition fees to UTS, but may still pay regular fees at your home university.
Australian Language and Culture Studies
This program is open to all students who do not meet the required English language level to enrol in other UTS study abroad and exchange programs.
- Complete full-time studies that will develop your English language skills through the study of Australian language, society and culture.
- Enrol in full-time studies at UTS for one or two teaching sessions with the approval of your home institution (if you wish to gain academic credit).
- Taught by UTS faculty staff.
- Students who enrol in this program for two teaching sessions may choose to sit an IELTS test at the end of their first session in order to transfer into a different Study Abroad or Exchange option for their second session.
- In addition to English classes you will be ‘buddied’ with an experienced UTS student and you will visit places of cultural importance.
