The advanced science degrees are definitely good for something research focussed
What degree you are currently studying including major?
Bachelor of Advanced Science in Advanced Materials and Data Science
What motivated you to study this degree/major?
The UTS Open Day talks about the degree and major
What do you enjoy most about your degree?
The experimentation and the contact with professionals in the field. The advanced science degree are definitely good for something research focussed.
What is it like to study at UTS Science?
Engaging and interesting. The lab contact hours are good and there is plenty of freedom to do what interests you.
What any advice you would give to students studying this degree?
This degree is very intensive. There is more freedom but there is also a lot more individual responsibility for completing the degree compared to other science degrees.
What would you like to do once you complete your degree?
My goal is to go on and do further research in the nanotechnology field or possibly became a restoration worker in a museum.
What other activities do you participate/do at uni?
I do some volunteer work at the Microstructural Analysis Unit at UTS Science. I have been working under a PhD student mostly with electron beam induced deposition processes, which have application in nano device fabrication.
