Lectures are complemented by problem-based active learning sessions. An optimised mix of tutorials, practical workshops, simulated scenarios, interdisciplinary forums and clinical placements encourage you to apply the theory you learn in a small group environment with individual attention and critique.
Integrated subject material
Our emphasis is on helping students build a comprehensive understanding of the theory through its relevance and application to real life scenarios in a diverse range of practice settings. The subject material has been integrated across the master's program and assessments require students to solve problems and apply their theoretical knowledge.
Realistic career preparation
The curriculum has been strengthened by the inclusion of interdisciplinary expertise and a choice of elective subjects. This means that you will be prepared for not just current, but also future areas of demand in physiotherapy. At UTS, you will have access to state-of-the-art clinical labs and the expertise of leading academics. Collectively, these will ensure that you receive the highest quality of education across clinical skills, communication and person-centred care and be prepared for the demands of a career in physiotherapy.
Simulation
Clinical simulation is designed to prepare you for external placements. It puts into practice the principles of professionalism as well as consolidating learning of core physiotherapy skills. Clinical simulation may include role plays, the use of high fidelity mannequins, professional actors and real patients, all designed to create authentic real-time settings in which you can apply your physiotherapy skills.
Clinical placements
UTS Physiotherapy sources all your placements at sites carefully selected to offer supervision by experienced physiotherapists that complement in-class learning. Placements are offered in hospital and private practice settings. Find out more about clinical placements
