Research Scholarship Opportunity
Funded by the UTS Centre for Local Government, the Scholarship is linked to an Australian Research Council Linkage grant, titled ‘Local Government and Housing in Australia for the 21st Century’. The scholarship is open to students who are intending to undertake a PhD in the area of local government and housing.

Value and duration
The candidate will be awarded the scholarship each year. The recipient will be awarded $25,849 annually over 3 years.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:
• have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours, or be regarded by the University as having an equivalent level of attainment
• be undertaking a higher degree by research at UTS in the year of the scholarship
• be enrolled as a full-time student
• should not be in receipt of an APA scholarship
• be undertaking a research project that is of direct relevance to the ARC Linkage grant.
Selection criteria
• A research proposal that is of direct relevant to the work of the Centre for Local Government and of a high academic standard.
• Academic merit in previous undergraduate (including Honours) or postgraduate study.

In addition to standard UTS postgraduate research admission requirements, you must also submit a 300 word expression of interest detailing why you feel you should be considered for the Scholarship.
